Jeffrey is a senior counsel with the firm specializing in strategic development and management of patent portfolios, litigation strategy, technology business counseling and technology licensing. Jeffrey has extensive legal experience in both in-house and private practice environments. Prior to joining the Firm, Jeffrey had spent close to 15 years in-house at numerous well known high technology companies. His positions included senior attorney at Hewlett-Packard Company in Palo Alto, CA, Director of Intellectual Property at Broadcom Corporation in Irvine, CA, and Senior Director of Patent Operations at Dolby Labs in San Francisco, CA. He also has also been in private practice at the law firms of McHale & Slavin in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Beyer, Weaver & Thomas in Palo Alto, CA, and McAndrews, Held & Malloy in Chicago, IL.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Jeffrey worked as an electrical engineer at Allison Transmissions of Indianapolis, IN and Hughes Aircraft Company in Los Angeles, CA. His technical experience includes software specification and code development, satellite telemetry hardware, Ion beams, radar systems, and nuclear validation and survivability analysis. While at Hughes, Jeffrey was part of the United States' inspector team and an on-site inspector of Soviet missile plant operations under the Intermediate Range Nuclear Forces ("INF") treaty.
Through the combination of his highly specialized educational and professional background in the law, business and engineering, he is able to provide distinctively intuitive, expert strategic counsel to his clients.
Jeffrey's honors and awards include being a Hughes Aircraft Company Master's Fellow, HKN Electrical Engineering Honor Society, Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society, and AIAA/Boeing Industry Scholarship.
Jeffrey is also admitted to practice in California, Illinois, Florida, and before the US Patent and Trademark Office. He is also a registered solicitor of England, Wales, and UK territories. Jeffrey is also a member of the American Corporate Counsel Association ("ACCA") and American Intellectual Property Law Association ("AIPLA").
